Robert has nearly 25 years’ experience working both in-house and in private practice, and joined LegalEdge from FTSE 250 company Drax Group plc. He brings deep expertise in the energy sector, most recently as General Counsel at Rebel Energy, a UK retail power and gas supplier. His legal background includes significant experience in banking and commercial law, and he is highly skilled at negotiating and drafting complex agreements, including commercial contracts, debt arrangements, project finance deals, carbon trading agreements, and securities-based transactions.

As the first in-house counsel at Rebel Energy, Robert played a key role in setting up the company’s legal function from the ground up during a critical period of growth. He is adept at building scalable legal frameworks that support business objectives while managing risk, and has a proven ability to work closely with leadership teams in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Robert’s combination of strategic insight and hands-on legal execution makes him a valuable partner for scaling businesses.
