Nicola focusses on helping clients prioritise what’s important so they can proactively manage legal strategy, workflow and budget. Using her experience as an in-house lawyer she works closely with the ops team to reduce risk and find practical, workable solutions for the business. Taking a holistic view of the business, Nicola highlights what you need to worry about, and what you don’t, so that you’re able to scale faster and more effectively.

Her varied experience ranges from working with a global fintech company to more agile tech start-ups and rapidly-growing renewables companies to provide commercial, in-house day-to-day legal support. She’s also brilliant at helping with regulatory and compliance matters and data privacy issues. Nicola has strong employment law experience and has litigated on maternity and sex discrimination cases. Nicola is particularly interested in commercial contracts and employment and discrimination law.

Useful to know:

Nicola loves family time with her husband and two young daughters in the Stirlingshire countryside, travelling, singing and everything property investment and wellness related (she also happens to be a qualified nutritionist). Nicola completed part of her law degree in Spain and speaks some Spanish and French.

Worked with:

Nicola has worked as contractor Legal Counsel at OFX, as Principal Lawyer for the regulatory body, the Equality and Human Rights Commission and as a Procurator Fiscal for the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service where she spent three years as a criminal prosecution lawyer following her two year training contract. She has also worked with Blueback Global, Saint + Sofia and Touchnote.
