Michael is a senior commercial and technology lawyer who has spent his career helping businesses build legal functions that support growth rather than slow it down. Having worked both in private practice and in-house, he understands the challenges faced by scaling companies and works closely with founders, leadership teams and stakeholders to put in place practical legal frameworks that enable businesses to move quickly and confidently.

He has extensive experience advising technology, financial services and consultancy businesses on commercial contracts, technology procurement, SaaS, intellectual property, data privacy, AI governance and regulatory change. Michael is particularly skilled at simplifying complex legal issues, streamlining contracting processes and creating scalable playbooks, templates and governance structures that reduce bottlenecks and improve efficiency across organisations.

A commercially minded problem-solver, Michael focuses on delivering pragmatic advice that balances legal risk with business objectives. Whether negotiating strategic technology agreements, supporting outsourcing and transformation projects, or helping businesses establish legal processes that can grow with them, he provides practical solutions that allow teams to focus on what matters most.

Michael enjoys off-road cycling, hiking and keeping fit. A self-taught bicycle designer, Michael founded the Dialled Bikes and FTB BMX brands as a labour of love in parallel to his legal career, with numerous riders winning national, European and World Championship titles on bikes he designed. A long-time supporter and patron of Peckham BMX Club, he is passionate about supporting and developing emerging talent and was proud to see one of his former team riders, Kye Whyte, win Team GB’s first ever Olympic BMX racing medal at the Tokyo Olympics. Michael is also a lifelong supporter of Liverpool FC and recently passed the FIFA Football Agent exam to qualify as a licensed FIFA Football Agent.

He has also worked in private practice at Wilde Sapte, Speechly Bircham and Bortstein Legal Group, where he also worked extensively with The Bank of New York Mellon.
