Mariko is an experienced tech and product lawyer with extensive experience supporting large-scale, consumer-facing digital platforms. She specialises in complex cross-border transactions, negotiating commercial and technology agreements, and enabling rapid product innovation under tight timelines.
She brings deep expertise in privacy, AI and online safety, having designed and implemented global compliance frameworks for highly regulated, user-driven platforms operating at scale. Mariko is particularly experienced in navigating sensitive risk areas such as user protection, trust and safety, and evolving regulatory and ethical standards across multiple jurisdictions.
Mariko works closely with product, engineering and leadership teams to deliver practical, commercially focused legal support. She is recognised for building and scaling high-performing legal teams that act as trusted partners to the business, helping ambitious companies grow responsibly while moving fast.

Mariko is CIPP/E certified and holds a distinction in the Artificial Intelligence Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. She is a fluent Japanese speaker and enjoys travel and good food.
