Kath O’Rourke
Kath is an experienced HR leader who works with founders and leadership teams in scaling businesses to ensure their people approach supports growth. She helps put in place the right foundations, from structure and leadership capability to culture and ways of working, so teams can perform well and the business can grow with confidence.
Her experience spans setting up HR functions for fast-growing companies and managing HR for larger organisations across the private, public, and charity worlds. She works across areas including organisational design, leadership and talent development, employee engagement, and change. Kath also supports businesses through periods of rapid growth, restructuring, and investment activity.
Kath’s focus is on helping organisations build people practices that are simple, effective, and scalable. She is known for her pragmatic and commercially focused style, and turns people challenges into clear, practical actions that leaders can implement straight away. She is particularly passionate about working with scaling tech businesses, where rapid growth often creates a greater need for experienced HR support. Alongside her consulting work, she serves as a Board Advisor to startups, bringing a strategic perspective to the businesses she supports.

Outside of work, Kath loves travelling and is a qualified scuba diver. She has a musical background, having played saxophone and clarinet in a band for many years, and enjoys watching sport, particularly rugby, athletics, and skiing. Based in London, she makes the most of the city’s restaurants, having completed a number of wine and cookery courses.
