Claire Pattie
Claire has worked extensively across EMEA and APAC setting up efficient legal functions and supporting the growth of dynamic and innovative tech scale-ups. As an experienced in-house lawyer across sectors including ecommerce, proptech, edtech, adtech, fintech and HRtech, she takes a holistic view of legal when handling the day-to-day matters, including working with sales and ops teams to close out customer and supplier contracts (SaaS, Paas, apps, etc), privacy/ GDPR compliance work, HR support, etc.
She’s great at upgrading and implementing processes and templates to speed up deal cycles whilst managing contracts and supporting with the implementation of new legaltech solutions. Claire is also experienced at training cross-functional business teams as well as providing support with the hiring of permanent roles (e.g. contract managers, heads of legal etc). She understands the value of using the right resource for the job which includes managing specialists and other external advisers when required. Claire focusses on business enablement and is valued for her approachable communication style, pragmatic creative solutions and growth mindset.

Claire really enjoys the performing arts and has performed at festivals and competitions in the UK and Europe. Claire is also keen hiker and once completed the 5-day Otter Trail along South Africa’s Garden route. She speaks Spanish and is still working on mastering her French.

Claire has had full-time in-house legal roles at the BBC, WeWork and Coursera, where she established the EMEA legal function, and has worked as a consultant supporting clients such as gaming company Zynga and adtech companies Zappi and Permutive. Claire has also worked with Perkbox, GoodLord, Modern Milkman, Patch Plants, Freddies Flowers and several small design and film studios. Prior to that Claire trained at Travers Smith, where she qualified to the Corporate team.What Claire's clients say:
