Becs is an experienced in-house lawyer, supporting high growth companies primarily in the technology sector, including fintech and healthtech. She thrives working closely with founders and executive teams to manage and navigate legal and transactional challenges in the simplest and most efficient way to get deals done. She’s also brilliant at managing general BAU work and developing internal processes and policies that support efficient growth including contract review processes and workflows to enhance efficiency when scaling.

She is passionate about making the legal function an enabler of business, facilitating growth with the right level of risk and compliance, rather than being an expensive blocker. With extensive experience working with both venture capital funds and venture capital backed companies, she knows the intricacies of both the commercial and legal parts of the investment and acquisition process and provides clear, pragmatic advice on how companies can best prepare for, and execute, these deals with as little friction as possible, making the fundraising process quick and efficient.

Whether working on investments and board-level negotiations or managing risk, contracts, contract processes, etc, Becs works to ensure that risk is managed effectively, deals progress smoothly, and leadership teams are supported.

Useful to know:

Becs currently splits her time between London and Portugal and when she isn’t working, will most likely be found surfing or on a farm. While on a career break, she spent a year working on farms focused on regenerative agriculture and currently sits as an advisor for the regenerative disruptor enterprise, New Foundation Farms.

Although it has somewhat taken a backseat to surfing these days, Becs is also a keen triathlete and has competed in the Copenhagen Ironman as well as a number of shorter distance triathlons.

Worked with:

Becs' in-house experience includes Senior Legal Counsel at Vinted, managing the company's acquisitions and liquidity events and scaling the contract review process as well as Legal Counsel at Big Society Capital where she had a broad remit advising the investment team and setting up internal processes and policies. She trained at Allen & Overy and prior to moving in-house was a senior corporate lawyer at Taylor Wessing where she was the key external advisor to a number of companies as they moved from seed stage to scale-up.
