Anna is an experienced in-house commercial lawyer trusted by complex, international businesses to manage legal risk and support strategic decision-making, particularly in the hospitality and luxury sectors. She has significant experience advising B2C, consumer-facing businesses and working within retail-focused compliance frameworks, giving her a strong understanding of the legal and regulatory issues affecting consumer brands, including consumer terms, consumer protection legislation and advertising and marketing regulation. Known for her pragmatic approach and strong commercial judgement, Anna supports businesses in a clear, commercially focused way, helping them assess and manage legal risk in line with operational and strategic priorities.

Her experience spans a broad range of commercial and operational matters, including commercial and IT contracts, data protection and privacy, regulatory compliance (including travel regulation), corporate governance, employment law, and M&A. She is particularly experienced in supporting brand-driven businesses, advising on brand development, innovation, crisis management, and sensitive reputational issues, with brand protection as a core consideration. She has also worked closely with senior leadership teams within lean legal functions, advising across sales, marketing, advertising, PR, technology and supplier and outsourcing arrangements, as well as strategic initiatives.

Anna is a strong advocate for improving the delivery of legal support through innovation, efficient processes, and the thoughtful use of technology, including AI. She has led the development and implementation of scalable compliance programmes, practical training, and robust contract frameworks, enabling legal advice to be more accessible, consistent, and effective in fast-paced, commercially demanding environments.

Useful to know:

Anna loves being outdoors with her husband, daughter, and Airedale Terrier, whether hiking up fells in the Lake District (where she grew up) or enjoying walks in Highgate Woods when at home in London. She has spent considerable time in France for work and study, including studying at Université de Toulouse. Anna has a passion for project management and interior design, and has occasionally advised on residential projects in North London.

Anna has broad in-house experience, having worked for Belmond (later part of the LVMH Group) acting as right-hand to the General Counsel, with responsibility for legal strategy, GDPR, compliance, corporate governance, and corporate and commercial matters across a complex, multi-jurisdictional hospitality group. Anna trained at Herbert Smith Freehills and worked in their corporate team prior to moving in-house.
