Kate Wright
Kate is an experienced HR leader with over 20 years’ experience in strategic and operational HR roles across large, complex organisations. She is a collaborative business partner who aligns people strategy with commercial objectives and thrives on supporting change in fast-growing businesses. Kate brings broad expertise across the entire employee lifecycle, spanning people strategy, organisational change, talent acquisition and retention, learning and development, wellbeing and inclusion, reward, and the design of practical, best-practice HR policies.
Having been part of Ocado’s journey from its founder-led start-up phase through to IPO and its evolution into a global business, Kate experienced first-hand how to scale people infrastructure through periods of rapid growth. She combines this hands-on start-up experience with a strong understanding of corporate governance and Board-level engagement. Pragmatic and commercially focused in her approach, Kate is passionate about helping growing businesses build scalable, resilient people practices that support long-term success.
Useful to know:
When Kate’s not working, she is usually trying to blend her love for languages with travel, food, and wine. After doing a degree in French, Spanish and Portuguese, she worked in Lisbon for 4 years as a translator and her favourite destination is still Portugal (and of course Wales where she is from). She volunteers as a Board Trustee for the local Foodbank network, supporting strategic planning and helping to build community resilience and fight local food poverty.
